LU x Adidas Collaboration – Breaking Barriers Together

February 2023

We are excited to announce that LU Innovations has been selected to participate in the prestigious Adidas Breaking Barriers Innovation Lab, an initiative aimed at empowering women-led organisations and breaking down the barriers women and girls face in sports across Europe. This six-month accelerator programme focuses on supporting start-ups that are tackling key issues, such as menstrual health, fitness education, and equal opportunities in sports.

As part of the Breaking Barriers programme, LU Innovations will receive mentorship from Adidas experts, participate in customised workshops, and collaborate with other forward-thinking organisations working to make sport more inclusive. This opportunity aligns perfectly with our mission to create sustainable, innovative menstrual care solutions that empower women adventurers and athletes.

Since its launch in 2022, the Breaking Barriers Innovation Lab has supported 14 organisations focused on women-specific needs in sports, such as training based on menstrual cycles and developing menstrual hygiene products for outdoor sports. We are proud to be part of this journey to provide women and girls with the tools they need to succeed in sports, no matter where they are or what challenges they face.

Our participation in this programme will help accelerate the development of our menstrual health kits for adventurers, with a specific focus on outdoor sports. By working alongside Adidas and industry experts, we aim to refine our products and expand their reach across Europe. This collaboration will enable us to contribute to creating a more inclusive, equal sporting environment for women and girls everywhere.
